Week 41

Well if I didn't mention it in my last post let me should it from the hilltops now SHE STANDS! My baby can stand like a pro! She stands on everything and anything, not just her crib. Standing has actually inspired her to learn to crawl. She is fast little bugger now. She love loves to stand! It's done wonders for her sleeping! She actually only waked up one time at night now and a few nights she even slept all the way til 6am. I'm sure it's because she is tiring out her little legs all day by standing at the coffee tables and couches and legs and beds, etc.

Her crawling is hilarious. I NEED to film it. She gets in the crawling position then takes a knee step then the next step is with her FOOT! So it's basically knee, foot, slide, knee foot slide. She looks like a little monkey or the hunchback of Notre Dame (if Egor crawled). Raph calls her Mobley because she reminds him of the Jungle Book boy when he is learning to walk like a bear, lol.

Tuesday was Yaya's birthday and we went to SF to the De Young museum and the Science museum. Aria had a great time and was very good. She loves to look around and new people places and things. She wasn't allowed in the Planetarium because you needed to be 4 to go in so Pops stayed out with her. We ate dinner at the Los Altos Grill and they provided a cute little clip on high chair for her. I tried to feed her her sweet potatoes but she wasn't very interested and kept rubbing them all over her sleeves and spitting them out.

Yesterday we went to the 9 month check up appointment. Dr Jane Auh is very nice. She said that Aria was very social. This may be in part to the fact that she gave her a huge baby smile when she walked in the door, though I think the doctor is used to making kids comfortable. She is 20 pounds and 9 ounces and 29 inches long. 85% for height and 75% for weight. She is doing awesome and has the go ahead to eat meats and yogurts. The doctor said her head is still a bit flat but that it wasn't too bad and we probably won't even notice when she gets hair. She said if I want to I can take her to get her head measured and they will say what flatness category she is in -mild, moderate, severe, but that it was completely up to me. I'm thinking about it, but I think it's not too bad and she said it will only get better not worse at this point so we'll see.

Kevin and I went to a Sharks game on Saturday. Aria stayed with Yaya. It was the longest she has been away from both of us, 7 hours total. She did absolutely great though. It's so nice that she eats solids now so even though she refuses a bottle, I know she will not go hungry.

I can't believe next week is Easter. I wanted to get some cute Easter photos taken, like spring style, but not sure if I'll have time. Hopefully I will make it happen.

Week 40

Well here we are. I can't believe it! Aria has been longer out than in! It's really quite amazing when I think about it, because being pregnant seemed so very long.

As I sit here, Aria is standing at the coffee table next to me. Yep, she now stands very well. She even tries to stand with nothing to pull herself up. It ends up being a very funny, surfer like pose before she falls straight on her face.

She still hasn't masted crawling. She bear crawls and army crawls. Bear crawling is what we call it when she walks on her hands and feet. In my opinion this is harder than "real" crawling.

Aria enjoyed yet another holiday, St. Patrick's Day! She was the star of the show here at Yaya and Pops' house. Yaya made delicious corned beer and cabbage (even though she couldn't eat any because she is on a juice fast). Kevin worked until 4 and then we just hung out here and relaxed.

On Sunday we went to Testarossa with Josh, Emily and their son Carlo. It was a bit rainy out so they were not serving in the Courtyard. But we had fun. We tasted inside with the babies and then had snacks outside. We were the only ones out there and we were sitting out there after they closed at 5pm, but the staff were very kind and accomodating. I really like the fellow Randy, he is soft spoken and lives with his folks taking care of them. He started working there in September or August. He is always quick to set up an umbrella or heater for us. The other taster Paul is nice too. I tried to use my charm to get him to help us out sooner because of the crazy crowd. Not sure if it worked too too well, but hey, I tried.

After tasting and chatting we went to Em and Josh's house in SJ and had delicious Chinese food. It was so cute seeing Aria play on the ground with another baby. I really think I must join a mom's group for her to get more interaction with kids her age. It's so very nice to have some friends who have a kid too! We stayed til like 10pm, talking about country music, tv shows and just anything and everything, it was fun to get out.

I am officially a member of the YMCA again. I've gone 4 times! And while I don't feel thinner yet I have hope that it will happen. Gabby and I went this morning. I think it inspired Kevin to go out for a run (which he is one right now). We are going to be the hot cute couple with the baby dammit ;)

Another achievement, Aria is getting her two front teeth!! Anndd she learned how to grind together the four teeth that she has, haha. Talent there ;)

Yaaaay!

Happy skinny Yaya!

Cool new hair style I did for Gabby.

Oreo cheesecake desserts!

Until next time, xo Rosie

Week 39

Well this week I am proud to say that Aria has made leaps and bounds in her developmental milestones.

She learned to sit from a laying down position. And now she can't get enough of it. She wants to sit when she is being changed, when she is "trying" to nap, when she is being rocked. She is very excited that she can do this new thing. Every morning when she wake up she is sitting at the very end of her crib playing with her Soothe and Glow Seahorse. She learned to turn it on herself this morning.

And if she is not sitting and playing in the morning…she is STANDING and screaming! Yep, she stands. She still doesn't crawl, more like slug wiggles across the room, but she stands like a pro. And she tries to stand on anything she can pull herself up with. It's so crazy that she went from being a little immobile lump to a sitting/standing/wiggling little person.

In other news, Holly and Dwight had their wedding on Saturday. Kevin started baby-duty on Friday because I had bridesmaid-ly duties that I needed to attend to. We made all the bouquets and they turned out fabulous. I didn't help as much as I was planning to, but Sonia was stellar in getting things done. Everything looked beautiful and it was all DIY.

On the morning of the wedding I arrived at the reception hall completely ready at 1230pm. Aria had a snack before I left and Kevin planned to bring her back at 230pm (the ceremony started at 3pm). Since I arrived early and the girls were still beautifying, I helped finish makeup hair and eyelashes. I've become quite good at applying the false eye lashes. I feel bad that Gabby tried to put some one before I left, but was having a disastrous time and I didn't have time to help her. Sonia was the other eyelash pro. Though she was trying so hard to be perfect for Holly's that she ended up having to step back and Holy wiped her eye makeup off and re did it and then I applied them.

Gabby brought Aria in at 230ish and I fed her in the bathroom (too many people in the bridal party suite). The girls all loved Aria and we were taking pictured of her holding a rose. I kept trying to get her to smell is and she kept opening her mouth for a lick. Unfortunately while we were taking the photo shoot I guess she got a petal off and ate it all stealth like. Right before it was my turn to walk down the aisle with my bridesmaid partner, my mom goes running out saying that Aria was choking!! She got the petal out of her throat, but it threw me for a loop and I misstepped my almost only part of the ceremony. Oh well, I'm not the most important part of the wedding ;)

Kevin has today off and we are going on a date to Los Altos Grill. I'm excited! We had not been on a proper date in ages. Literally. I think we skipped out to a movie like a month ago, but before that…I don't even remember.

I'm excited for this weekend as well. We have St. Paddy's day on Saturday and our triple date with Josh, Emily and Carlo on Sunday. I hope it's sunny out so we can enjoy the courtyard.

Lastly, sleep update. Aria still is the worst sleeper, up every 3 hours and sometimes more. Will it ever end?

Until next time, xo Rosie
