Well we are officially 2 more weeks down. I feel Aria's first birthday getting closer and closer. I am narrowing down themes. It's become a slight, non-unhealthy, obsession of mine to make her first birthday magical and amazing and and, I keep having to reming myself that this is not a wedding and she won't even remember it, hehe.
I've been working on her baby book. I LOVE looking at my old baby stuff and I want Aria to have the same fun I did as a child. I'm torn between doing a 52 page book (one for each week) or just important events/milestones pages. I think 52 pages might be a little daunting and we all know me big, awesome, amazingly unique ideas = never finished because my personal motto is, "Nothing less than perfect, is all I ask." I think Aria would rather have something than nothing with all the good intentions of the world.
So Aria has been standing more. She has an awesome gated pen in the back yard porch and she's been enjoying standing at the edge and letting go. She is so proud of herself when she does too. On Sunday some friends came over and they had their little boy in the pen with her. It was so cute. They actually were able to almost push the gate over when the two of them were leaning on the same side.
She's getting better at waving too. She totally waves back when anyone waves. She even starts the wave herself when I take her to leave the room. She's a smarty pants.
Another huge thing is she is finally drinking from a sippy cup on her own. I've been offering it to her everyday for weeks now (months really). And finally today she was on the ground and I set the sippy cup down across the floor from her. She crawled to it, picked it up and took a nice long swing. I was so proud.
Her crawling has improved as well. She still crawls her special way sometimes, but she has learned to crawl like a "normal" baby too. She looks like a quick little spider scurrying across the room.
Poor Mr Burbs had to have all his teeth removed yesterday. He's not gonna have any chompers to protect himself from my bad little baby.
Here's the story as I told it to my friends:
We took Herbie to the vet yesterday to get his teeth cleaned b/c he's been acting like they are hurting him. Gabby and I had brought him in like a month ago and they said it didn't look too bad but that he might need one tooth extracted b/c it could be infected which is what was causing the pain. They made us an appointment for a month out (the soonest available). So we drop him off for the extraction/cleaning yesterday morning and at like 4 o'clock we get a call from the vet. The doctor said she had to remove a "few" more than anticipated b/c of severe tooth decay/disease/bone decay/abbesses - She removed TWENTY-FIVE of his teeth!!!
So my poor, poor Herbie now is going to have live his life mostly toothless. We should have been better about brushing his teeth everyday. Although the vet said some breads just are more genetically prone to have dental problems.
Anyways, there's my story of the day for you. Think happy thoughts for Mr. Burbs as he recovers.
Well my mama wants to do laundry and I've been holding up the machine for a few days, soo, I've got to go.
Until next time, xo Rosie

Week 42-43
Hello again. Today I wish to inform you that my precious little 10 month old can officially, undeniable, all by herself with no hands, STAND! I was sitting here 2 days ago, futtsing away at my Advance Photoshop class when bam, it happened. She had been playing on the ground minding her own business, beating away at a giant pot with a wooden spatula, when she decided that this glorious pot could in fact have another purpose besides that of a makeshift drum. Yes, she decided it would be the catalyst to her very first attempt at standing on her own. She pulled up on that pot, and leaning over it gingerly let go, up her knees went from a squat and VOILA, she stood. I was so excited that I almost screamed. I happened to have my camera on hand, so I snapped a picture, overjoyed to get this very first moment on camera. I ran around her to get a better angle and in my exuberance filled haste, I scared her into falling on her booty. But once she does something she doesn't forget and it becomes her new life goal to replicate the feat. So i the last 2 days she has been practicing. Admittedly her little head is a big banged up now, because her will is sometimes stronger than her legs, but she tries and she succeeds some of the time. I can't believe it. The next step is going to be well, a step! My gosh, I'm not ready, but also super excited!
This past Sunday was Easter. Another holiday down! We went to the Easter Vigil mass on Saturday night at Saint Nicholas. It was a wonderful, long, and memory filled ceremony. It crazy to think that it's already been two years since Kevin's Baptism. And look at us now, celebrating as a family of three. Aria did great during the mass, she enjoyed the candle procession and bonfire. She only started to "talk" a little when she got tired half way through the three hour service. Kevin took her out in the hall. Kevin's mom Carol was there to. It's so nice that she comes to these things to support Kevin and our family and show her love.
Easter day we went to Grammy and Grandfather's at 12pm for brunch. I made some really cute birds next cookies and potato salad. I really enjoy cooking and it's so nice to bring my favorite recipes and treats for everyone to enjoy. I hope to teach Aria to cook with me when she's young. I always wished I'd watched my mom more and learned more of her awesome recipes. But hey it's never too late, I am here after all ;)
After Grammy's we came back to Pops and Yaya's house and had a second Easter party. Kevin's mom Carol gave Aria a cute knew Gymboree outfit and we took some photos. We had tons of delicious food for all to share including, trout, salmon, lamb, and Fred's famous Steak from Schaub's in Palo Alto. Aunt Deirdre and her girl were in town so they came over and so did Will and Anthony, every one else flaked out like good family members. Oh and Trinity was allowed to come too, May dropped her off.
