Aria's First Valentine's Day and Tahoe Trip

Well hello there. Since we last spoke Aria has experienced yet another holiday. She was a pure cupid angel on Valentines Day! Auntie Gabby bought her a cute little red plaid skirt with tights attached to it and she wore her "free hugs" shirt that Melissa and her mom gave to her. So adorable! We woke up in the morning and Kevin had to work at 10am. There were no flowers, but he made up for it after work. We got me beautiful roses from Los Gatos and cupcakes from Icing on the Cake, red velvet sooo good! Gabby and I shared them! My wonderful mama made us all a little Valentine card with delicious See's candy heart. I ate my entire heart in one sitting, so bad but soo good!

We have been planning on going to Tahoe with our friends Mike and Lauren for months now. We had many instances of the plans falling through and the entire trip being cancelled and shortened. But in the end our will prevailed! We did it! Last Friday we drove up to Tahoe to stay and Mike's family friend's cabin in South Shore. The trip was not without extra rumples right before leaving.

1) Gabby had a sudden interview at BC! Resume send on Tuesday. Phone interview on Thursday. Offered the job on Friday. Turned it down on Monday b/c they are cheap asses and offered much less pay than what I made to do the same exact job!! Not cool. But at least she already has 3 jobs so she wasn't in the position to need this one. All of this equals stresss right before leaving.

2) Gabby was horridly sick during this process and threatened to skip Tahoe all together. Woe is me.

3) Kevin gets told on Wednesday that Apple is hiring at the Valley Fair store for Lead Genius. He needs to submit application and letter of intent by Friday (the day we are leaving). We can't find his resume. I invent a new resume for him. He changes it. It almost killed me to do.

4) Because of stressing over peoples potential jobs, I am not able to go shopping to prepare for the snow! I finally went to Sports Authority with Raph and spend $200 (*tears*) on snow pants and jackets. Thank God in heaven that we already had boots and gloves!

5) Aria had a terrible barfing episode on Wednesday night. We were laying in bed and she was eating like normal, when suddenly she pulled away and projectile spewed all over me, the bed, the pillows and her self. It was EVERYWHERE! I figured I fed her too much. So we cleaned up changed everything and got back in bed. Then guess what….yep, it happened again! After 4 times and nothing left in her stomach, we called the urgent care after hours line. Well Kevin called, because I was attending to my poor barfing baby. The nurse said as long as the inside of her mouth felt moist she was not too dehydrated. She said to feed her just a little every 30 minutes. At about 4am everything quieted down and went to sleep. We were afraid to lay her in her bed so the little princess stayed with Mommy and Daddy. It turned out that Yaya, had given her a sip of soy milk the night before, unbeknown to us. And just like with the formula, she was terrible allergic to it! All of this made for an extra exhausting Thursday!

So as you can see, there was a lot going on right as we were about to embark on our first trip. But in the end, it all worked out and we made it out the door by 1030am with a car packed to the red hinges!

The house was gorgeous. Two stories, two bathrooms, Three bedrooms. The Jensen/House crew slept upstairs and Mike and Lauren took the king suite downstairs. When we got there we all went outside and played in the snow! So much fun after not seeing snow for 7 years!!!

I have a million photos that I will now share and caption so you can get the gist of the amazing time we had!

Let's see what else…Aria can now pick up and eat all her puffs on her own. She LOVES them! She has tried purple sweet potatoes/blueberry, sweet potatoes and Grandma Carol brought her some banana ones that she loved!

Carol came over on Friday and we went to the park. It was a beautiful day and there were tons of kids at the park. We had a fun time.

Friday was also Kevin's last day off and unfortunately it was a bit marred. He got a call at 225pm from the manager at Valley Fair saying "So Kevin, our meeting was scheduled for 220, were are you?". Needless to say, Kevin freaked out. It turns out that they had emailed his Apple work email LAST Friday the day we sent the application in to set up the interview. He was off all week on vacation (checking his personal email 5 times a day) so he didn't see it. It's not his fault b/c he had no way of accessing his work email when he is not in the store. It's just unfortunate. They rescheduled for Monday, so we will see…

Guess what? I'm pre-baby weight!! Woooohoooo, it only took 8 and a half months! 145! Now just 10 pounds from ultimate life goal! Hehe.

Until next time, Rosie xo

Aria's is 8 months!

Hello again. I would like to start by saying I am the proud mommy of an 8 month old. And said 8 month old is the proud owner of not 1 but 2 teeth!

Teething hasn't been so bad so far. But that may just be because she was never a good sleeper and waking up 4 times at night rather than 3 doesn't seem much different :/ Today Aria seemed extra fussy so I gave her some Tylonel, not such if it's helped yet, as she is still whiney.

Aria officially sat in a high chair at a restaurant for the first time on Friday. She absolutely loved it. She was  so good the whole time. We had been out earlier in the day wine tasting with Emily and Carlo. She enjoyed eating some of Carlo's puffs. I gave her a blueberry and I didn't watch her close enough I guess, because she squished it all over her Janie and Jack panda onesie, boo. She was a little grumpy by the time we left but took a nap in the car. When we got home, Gabby wanted to go out to dinner, so we went to the Italian Pizza place on Loyola corner, right by our house. Billy, Gabby Aria and I had a grand time eating pizza and calzones. And well, Aria played with the menu and ate a straw. She did lean her head over backward to say hi to the guy and his little boy who were behind us. He said she must like him because her looks like a big baby with his bald head!

We are going to Tahoe on Friday. I am excited yet stressed and nervous about going. I feel like nothing is ready and I never have time to do anything ever. It's a terrible feeling. I am at least washing Aria's poopy clothes right now. Yesterday, she managed to not only pee, but also poo on her change of clothes.

We were at my Uncle's Confirmation yesterday. Aria got to meet some of my cousins and my uncle for the first time. They flew out from VA. Aria's Great Grandma and Great Grandpa love her lots too. And so far she's been pretty good for them. During dinner my cousin Ivana took over with Aria. It was pretty much the cutest thing ever watching the table of teenage boys and girls play with her. Ivana's 15 year old boyfriend even held her for a while. I'm so glad that they enjoy babies. It reminds me of when I was 15 and I could not get enough of babies. I just loved them! And we babysat Aunt Aggie and Lucy's kids for years so it's nice to see it go full circle.

I offered Aria some avocado again. She seemed to like it better this time around. And she definitely like the puff cereal better now too.

We finally set up Aria's high chair. It's a very nice once from EvenFlo that Aunt Aggie and the girl got off my registry for the baby shower. Pops put it together for us. Aria actually really likes sitting in it. I've been putting a few puffs on the tray for her to play with and she is quite entertained by them. While I LOVE the bumbo, I am afraid that she is getting too big for it and might knock herself out of it. I'll just use it on the floor from time to time now, no more counter tops.

Anyways, tomorrow is Valentine's Day and I need to prepare a little something for Kevin and my family. Wish me luck!

Until next time, xo Rosie
